Educational Qualification: B.Sc
Applications are invited for the post of one Lab/Field Assistant contractual position for a research project in the multidisciplinary research field to be undertaken in the Department of Biological Sciences, IISER Kolkata.
1. Position: Lab or Field Assistant
2. No. of Vacancy: 1
3. Minimum Eligibility: B.Sc in any branch of Sciences from a recognized Board/Institute.
4. Desirable Qualifications: Basic knowledge in insect sciences, rearing and maintenance of insect cultures in greenhouse, field and laboratory conditions. Basic knowledge of using computers for record-keeping. Communication skill in spoken Hindi and English is desirable. Prior experience in entomology is highly preferable.
5. Salary: 20,000/- per month + 24 % HRA

Selection Procedure
1. Based on the first evaluation of applications received, only selected applicants will be notified by email to appear for an interview. No TA/DA is admissible for appearing in the interview.

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata (IISER Kolkata) was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (now Ministry of Education), Government of India. IISER Kolkata is designed to reach the prestigious position in the global setting that IISc, IIMs and IITs presently enjoy. IISER Kolkata is an autonomous institution awarding its own degrees. The central theme of the IISER Kolkata is to integrate education with research so that undergraduate teaching as well as doctoral and postdoctoral research work could be carried out in basic sciences.
The basic idea of IISER is to create research Universities of the highest calibre in which teaching and education will be totally integrated with the state of the art research. One of the important objectives of creating these Universities is to make education and careers in basic sciences more attractive by providing opportunities in integrative teaching and learning of sciences and break the barriers of traditional disciplines.
