Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Mechanical

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Electrical

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Electrical Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Instrumentation

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Civil

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Civil Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Electrical & Electronics

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Technician Apprentice-Electronics

• Essential: 3 years regular full time Diploma in Electronics Engineering with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice – Fitter

• Essential: Matric with regular full time 2 (Two) year ITI (Fitter) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice – Electrician

• Essential: Matric with regular full time 2 (Two) year ITI (Electrician) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice – Electronics Mechanic

• Essential: Matric with regular full time 2 (Two) year ITI (Electronics Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice – Instrument Mechanic

• Essential: Matric with regular full time 2 (Two) year ITI (Instrument Mechanic) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice – Machinist

• Essential: Matric with regular full time 2 (Two) year ITI (Machinist) course recognized by NCVT/SCVT. For ITI qualification in the relevant trade, eligibility shall be pass marks.

Eligibility for Graduate Apprentice

• Essential: Regular full time Graduate (BBA/BA/B.Com/B.Sc.) in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate for General, EWS and OBC-NCL & 45% in case of SC/ST/PwBD candidates from an Institute/University recognized by AICTE/UGC.

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Fresher)

• Essential: Class 12th (but below graduate).

Eligibility for Trade Apprentice-Data Entry Operator (Skill Certificate Holders)

• Essential: Class 12th (but below graduate) and should possess Skill Certificate of ‘Domestic Data Entry Operator’ for training of less than one year issued by an awarding body recognized under National Skill Qualifications Framework or any other authority recognized by the Central Government.

General Eligibility Conditions

• Qualification: The qualification prescribed shall be from a recognized University/Institute as a full-time regular course in relevant disciplines. Qualification acquired through Part-time / Correspondence / Distance Learning mode shall render the candidate NOT ELIGIBLE.
• Higher Qualification: Candidates possessing higher professional qualifications such as B.E or equivalent, MBA or equivalent or MCA / CA/ ICWA, LLB or any such equivalent or pursuing higher qualification shall NOT be considered eligible.
• Experience: Diploma Holder or Vocational Certificate holder Candidates having job experience for a period of one year or more after the attainment of the qualification shall not be eligible to be engaged as Apprentice.
• Apprenticeship: Candidates who have already undergone one apprenticeship training are eligible to apply for a second apprenticeship training in a different trade, provided a minimum gap of one year exists.

Stipend

The rate of stipend payable to apprentices per month shall be as prescribed under Apprentices Act, 1961/1973, Apprentices Rules 1992/2019. Over and above the statutory stipend, an additional amount of ₹ 2500/- shall be paid as Miscellaneous expenses.

• Graduate Apprentice: Rs 4500 paid by BOAT via DBT, remaining paid by IOCL.
• Technician Apprentice: Rs 4000 paid by BOAT via DBT, remaining paid by IOCL.
• Trade Apprentice: Full stipend paid by IOCL.

Important Dates

Applications are invited through NAPS/NATS portals. Candidates must check the respective portal for start and end dates of the application window.

Selection Process

• There will be no written Test/Interview.
• Merit list of all the candidates who have applied against a respective post in the portal and meeting the eligibility criteria shall be prepared based on the percentage of marks secured in the prescribed qualification for the post.
• In case of two candidates securing the same percentage of marks, the candidate with older age shall be placed higher.

Candidates must follow these steps:

1. Register on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) portal or National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal.
2. Apply against the notification Advt. No. IOCL/MKTG/NR/APPR/2025-26/2.
3. Ensure you have an Aadhaar seeded bank account enabled for Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
4. Submit the application through the online portal only. No other mode of application is accepted.
