Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata is inviting applications for the recruitment of three (03) Project linked person (one position for each project) purely on temporary basis to work on the following projects titled (l) "Automatic Handwriting Answer-script Evaluation"; (2) "Multi-ModaI Leaming in Limited Data Scenario" and (3) "Remote Intelligent Baby Monitoring" in the Computer Vision and Pattem Recognition Unit of the Institute, Kolkata.

3. Essential: (i) B.E/ B.Tech. in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics or equivalent or M.C.A. or M.Sc. in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Electronics or equivalent for all the projects, (ii) Strong programming skills in Python/ C/ C++/ JAVA for all the projects.
4. Desirable: Work experience or publications (published/ communicated) in the domain of Xledical Image Processing! Document Image Analysis/ Pattern Recognition/ Computer Vision/ Machine learning area for all the projects.
5. Pay Scale: 25000/- (Rupees twenty five thousand only) to 35000/- (Rupees thirty-five thousand only) per month (Consolidated pay with no other allowances) depending upon qualifications and previous work e.xperience. Deserving candidates may be offered higher payment subject to the availability of funds.
6. Tenure of appointment (for all projects):
The duration of the appointment is initially upto 30 November 2022, except the first project which is till 31 March 2022 from the date of his/her joining the institute which may be extended later/terminated earlier depending on availability of funds and perforrnance of the candidates.

Selection Procedure
The date of interview (online or in person) will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates in due course with maintaining all preventive measures not to spread COVID-19 global pandemic as directed by the Government of India

2. Candidates should have their qualifying degree by this application date. CVs with incomplete information or without supporting documents may be summarily rejected
3. At the time of joining. selected candidate(s) have to produce all relevant documents testimonials in original for verification and a medical certificate of fitness from the Medical Officer of the Institute
4. Failing this, the institute will offer the position to the next candidate in the merit list prepared for this purpose. Shortlisting of candidates for interview (online or in person) Will be done based on their academic credentials along with essential and desirable qualifications.

What began in 1931 with a solitary human 'computer' working part-time, now comprises over 250 faculty members and over 1,000 supporting staff and several modern-day personal computers, workstations, minicomputers, supermini computers and mainframe computers! Impressive as these figures are, they convey little idea of the road traversed, the range of activities undertaken and the intimate relationship of the Institute with the life of the nation.
