Applications are invited for recruitment of fivc (05) Project linked persons (one position for each project) purely on a temporary basis to work on the following research projects in thc Advanced Computing & Microelectronics Unit (ACMU) of the Institute, Kolkata.

1. Name of the Post: Project linked persons

3. Qualifications: A consistently good academic record with Ph.D. degree obtained or submitted OR 1st class in Master of Engineering, M.Tech., M.Sc., Master of Science in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Mathematics/ Engineering Technology and Commonwealth Engineering with preferably research experience.
4. Pay: A consolidated pay ranging EITHER between 28000/- (Rupees twenty eight thousand only) to 35000/- (Rupees thirty five thousand only) per month for candidates with M.Sc. in Computer Science/ M.C.A. or M.E./ M. Tech. degree (awarded/about to complete final examinations); OR 40000/- (Rupees forty thousand only) to 50000/- (Rupees fifty thousand only) per month for candidates with Ph.D. (submitted/ awarded) depending on the qualification and experience of the selected candidate.
5. Tenure of appointment: The appointment is initially till 31 March 2022 from the date of joining in the Institute, which may be extended later/ terminated earlier based on the performance, and availability of the required funds for the corresponding project

What began as a small room in the Presidency College in 1931, now comprises buildings on several acres of land in four major cities (Calcutta, New Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad)! What began with a total annual expenditure of less than Rs. 250 in 1931, now has a total annual expenditure of over Rs. 15,000,000! What began in 1931 with a solitary human 'computer' working part-time, now comprises over 250 faculty members and over 1,000 supporting staff and several modern-day personal computers, workstations, minicomputers, supermini computers and mainframe computers! Impressive as these figures are, they convey little idea of the road traversed, the range of activities undertaken and the intimate relationship of the Institute with the life of the nation.
