Educational Qualification: MBBS
The following posts are to be filled purely on temporary basis from willing eligible candidates for engaging under mBPaL Project titled “Evaluate the effectiveness, safety and tolerability of various doses of Linezolid in combination with Bedaquiline and Pretomanid in Adults with Pre-Extensively Drug-Resistant (Pre-XDR), Or Treatment Intolerant/Non-responsive Multidrug-Resistant (MDRTI/NR) Pulmonary Tuberculosis in India” implemented by this institute as detailed under:
1. Post Name: Junior Medical Officer (Consultant)
2. No. of Post: 01
3. Essential qualification: MBBS degree from a recognized university
4. Emoluments: Consolidated salary Rs. 60,000/- p.m.
5. Nature of duties: Patient recruitment, enrolment, clinical management and monitoring of study participants; Generating and submission of SAE forms and toxicity reports to IEC/sponsor; and Overall responsible for co-ordination of study / research activities with the sponsors and carry out the study as per study protocol.
6. Duration: Initially for a period of one year

LRS TB Hospital was established by TB Association of India in 1952. The hospital was upgraded into an autonomous Institute in 1991 by Govt. of India. The Institute was renamed as LRS Institute of Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. of India.
The Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare is the President of the Institute and the Union Secretary (Health & Family Welfare) is the Chairman of the Governing Body. Director General Health Services is the Vice-Chairman and the Additional Secretary (Health) is the Alternative Vice-Chairman of the Governing Body of the Institute. The Director is the Chief Executive Officer.
Aims and objectives of the hospital are To act as an apex Institute in the country for prevention, control and treatment of Tuberculosis and Allied Diseases; To promote National Tuberculosis Control Programme in the country and to formulate strategies which are socially acceptable and economically feasible in order to assist and strengthen the program.
