The company is responsible for distributing electricity in 16 districts of Madhya Pradesh, namely Bhopal, Gwalior, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Panna, Shivpuri, Morena, Datia, Bhind, Sheopur, Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Ashoknagar, Sehore, and Dewas.
MPMKVVCL is owned by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and is regulated by the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC).
