Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

  • Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
  • Educational Qualification:
    • LLB (Degree in Law) from a recognised university.
    • Minimum two years of practice experience as an advocate.
  • Age Limit: Candidates must have completed 21 years and not exceeded 40 years as of 01 January 2027. Upper age relaxation is applicable as per Madhya Pradesh Government General Administration Department norms for reserved categories, women, government servants, and ex-servicemen, up to a maximum of 45 years where applicable.
  • Employment Exchange Registration: As per MP High Court Jabalpur Writ Petition No. 5096/2022 (Order dated 08.03.2022), candidates from other states are exempted. For MP residents, live employment exchange registration is not mandatory at the time of application but must be presented before the final document submission date if selected for interview. Government and non-government employees in Madhya Pradesh are exempted upon submission of an NOC or service certificate from their department head.

Selection Process & Screening

The MPPSC Law Officer selection process consists of two stages:

  1. Written Examination (OMR-based): An objective-type OMR-based written test will be conducted at examination centres in Indore on 13 December 2026. Negative marking is applicable as per exam rules. Candidates securing top marks in order of merit will be shortlisted for the interview stage in ratios prescribed by the Commission.
  2. Interview: The interview carries a maximum of 100 marks. Minimum qualifying marks are 41 for Unreserved category and 31 for Reserved category and PwD candidates.

Note: Candidature is provisional at all stages. Document verification will be conducted prior to interview or appointment. No TA/DA will be paid to candidates for appearing in the examination or interview.
