Applications with a biodata on plain paper are invited from the intending candidates for the appointment of ONE Junior Research Fellow OR ONE project staff in a DST-SERB funded project titled ‘Assessment of genecological fitness and conservation of Phoebe hainesiana Brandis (Bonsum tree) populations of IndoBurma hotspot regions in India, on the threat of projected climate change’ under Dr. Vivek Vaishnav, Project Investigator, and Assistant Professor in Department of Forestry and Environmental Science, Manipur University. The details related to qualification and emolument are as following: 1. Post Name: Junior Research Fellow 2. Emoluments/Month: Rs. 31000 + 8% HRA (HRA will be given only if no accommodation facility is provided to the fellow by the University) 3. Essential Qualification Master of Science in Plant Science/ Agriculture/ Environmental Science/ Forestry (passed before 31/03/2022) with qualified National Eligibility Test CSIRUGC NET/ equivalent National level examination conducted by DST/DBT/ ICAR institutes and their agencies 4. No of Post: 01 5. Desirable Qualification: Skilled in Plant DNA extraction, PCR and Electrophoresis techniques Skilled in computing and genomic data analysis Interested in research proven by the publications 1. Manipur University was established as a State University on June 5, 1980, under the Manipur University Act 1980. It became a Central University on October 13, 2005, through the Manipur University Act 2005, passed by the Parliament. The University has nine Schools of Studies, forty-seven departments, and seven Centres of Studies attached to various Schools of Studies. The total student strength is 7,396.
Currently, the University has 119 affiliated colleges, including three medical colleges of regional and national significance. The Manipur Institute of Technology (MIT), under the School of Engineering, is a constituent college of the University.
