The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), functioning under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has released the detailed notification for recruitment to 133 Scientist-B posts in the year 2026. Through this recruitment, candidates holding a valid GATE score will be selected for the Scientist-B post, which is equivalent to a Group-A, Level-10 position. The selection is based on a valid GATE score (2024/2025/2026), followed by document verification and a Personal Interaction/Interview. There is no written exam conducted separately by CERT-In. The selected candidates will be placed at Level-10 of the 7th CPC pay matrix, and the job location can be anywhere in India or outside India.

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology (minimum four-year course), Master’s Degree in a relevant Science discipline, or MCA, as per the discipline applied for. The qualification must be relevant to the corresponding GATE paper code (CS, DA, or EC).
Experience:Not required. Selection is based on GATE score.
Skills:As per the specific discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, or Electronics).
Salary:
Level-10 (7th CPC): Starting basic pay of Rs. 56,100 per month.
Age Limit: UR/EWS: 30 years; OBC(NCL): 33 years; SC/ST: 35 years; PwBD: 40-45 years (category-specific). Age relaxation for in-service and Ex-Servicemen as per government norms. Cut-off date: 17.08.2026.
Selection Procedure:
Shortlisting based on valid GATE Score (2024/2025/2026) in the ratio of 1:5.
Document Verification.
Personal Interaction/Interview.
Final Merit: 60% GATE Score + 40% Interview Marks.
