The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways invites applications from retired officers worked in Central Government Ministries/Departments, Autonomous Bodies, Public Sector Undertakings, State Government Departments, State Govt. Public Undertakings and Central/State Govt. educational institutions on the terms & conditions indicated below:

1. Name of the post: Technical Consultant (Standard & Research)

2. No. of vacancy: 01

3. Essential Qualification & Experience:

i. Degree in Civil Engineering from AICTE approved university/institution.

ii. Minimum 20 years’ experience in Highway Sector, including minimum 5 years work experience as Executive Engineer or equivalent.

4. Desirable Qualification & Experience: 

i. Post-Graduation in Transportation Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or Structural Engineering /Ph.D.

ii. Good professional track record.

iii. Work Experience in the Ministry of RT&H (MoRTH)/NHAI/NHIDCL/BRO/State PWDs – NH Division.

iv. Good Knowledge of IRC Codes/Standards and Specification of Bridge/Highway, Software(s) used in Highway sector.

v. Strong Communication Skills both oral & written

vi. Working Knowledge of computer applications, MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point etc.

vii. Certificate of attending training programme(s) conducted by CRRI/IAHE/IITs/NITs

5. Period Of Engagement: The initial term of engagement shall be for a period of one year and subsequent extension(s) if any, shall be decided based on case to case basis depending upon specific job and the time frame for its completion. The maximum period of engagement of Consultant shall not exceed 3 years in any case.

6. Remuneration & Allowances:

a) Emoluments: The maximum amount of monthly consolidated remuneration payable to the Consultants shall be Rs 55,000. Fee/Remuneration of consultant(s) will increase by 5% per annum.

b) Allowances: The Consultants shall not be entitled at any allowance/benefits such as Provident Fund, Dearness Allowance, Transport Facility, Residential Accommodation, Personal Staff, CGHS, and Medical Reimbursement etc or any other benefits as available to the regular Government Servant. However, Conveyance Allowance shall be paid as per Rs 6,500/ per month.

7. Termination Of Contract Agreement: This Ministry can terminate the contract agreement, by giving 15 days’ notice to the Consultant(s). However, in exceptional cases, the Ministry reserves the right to terminate the contract agreement with immediate effect assigning any reason. If any information provided by the applicant is found to be incorrect at any stage, then the candidature/contract of the applicant/consultant shall be rejected/terminated and suitable action may be taken as decided by Competent Authority.

Selection Procedure
