Educational Qualification:
a. Essential qualification and experience: B.Tech / BE / Master's in Economics or Statistics with at least two years' experience in the steel / metal industry.
b. General Qualifications: Should have working knowledge of the Indian Steel Industry - Its structure and basics. Conversant with Government rules, regulations and practices. Analytical ability and communication skills. Ability to deal with and conversant with laws and practices of trade unions.
c. Preference will be given to those having: Statistical Knowledge. Managerial/Executive background.
Pay Scale:
INR
120000-280000/- Per Month
Age Limit: Maximum 55 Years.

The Ministry of Steel, a branch of Government of India, is the apex body for formulating all policies regarding steel production, distribution and pricing in India. As of June 2014, the ministry is headed by a minister of Cabinet rank, Chaudhary Birender Singh and is assisted by a Minister of State, Vishnu Deo Sai
Major activities of the ministry are - Co-ordination and planning of the growth and development of Iron and Steel Industry in the country (including Re-rolling Mills, Alloy Steel and Ferro Alloy Industries, Refractories) both in the Public and Private Sectors; Formulation of policies in respect of production, pricing, distribution, import and export of iron & steel, ferro alloys and refractories; and Development of input industries relating to iron ore, manganese ore, chrome ore and Refractories etc. , required mainly by the steel industry.
