Nalanda University Recruitment 2026 – Eligibility Criteria

Below are the educational qualifications and experience required for each post. Candidates must fulfil all criteria as on the last date of application.

1. Librarian

• Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks.
• 9 years’ experience as Assistant Librarian / Deputy Librarian / Additional Librarian, with at least 3 years as Deputy Librarian/Additional Librarian.
• Ph.D. in Library Science / Documentation / Archives and Manuscript Keeping.

2. Deputy Librarian

• Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science with at least 55% marks.
• 8 years’ experience as Assistant University Librarian / College Librarian.
• Ph.D. in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science / Archives and Manuscript Keeping / Computerization of Library.

3. Assistant Registrar

• Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks.
• 5 years’ professional experience in university/educational/research institution administration.
• Good English speaking skills and ability to work with diverse populations.
• Desirable: Additional qualification in Management/Law, knowledge of GFR, basic computer knowledge.

4. Assistant Engineer (Electrical)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
• 2 years’ post-qualification experience as Junior Engineer or similar in government/reputed commercial establishment.
• Desirable: Experience with electrical installations, CPWD/PWD procedures.

5. Senior Assistant

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
• 5 years’ experience in Administration, Establishment, Academic, Finance & Accounts, or General Supervision.
• Proficiency in computer operation, noting, and drafting.

6. Library Assistant

• Master’s Degree in Library & Information Science with 2 years’ relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science with 3 years’ experience.
• Knowledge of computer applications.

7. Assistant

• Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university.
• 3 years’ experience in Administration, Establishment, Academic, Finance & Accounts, or General Supervision.
• Proficiency in computer operation, noting, and drafting.

Nalanda University Recruitment 2026 – Salary Structure

Salary is fixed in USD per annum plus admissible allowances. Refer to the table above for post-wise pay scales. This is a contract-based appointment with attractive remuneration compared to standard government pay scales.
