Online applications are invited for the post to be filled up on purely temporary or contractual basis under the project at National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, Bengaluru. Place of duty: ICMR-National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, Bengaluru. Setting up of ICMR Bioethics Unit to Co-ordinate initiatives on capacity strengthening and research in the area of ethics' at National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, Bengaluru. (For one (1) year and may be extended)

1. Name of the Post: Project Scientist B (Medical/ Non- Medical)

2. No of Post: 01

3. Consolidated Salary per month: Medical Rs. 68,875 (Including HRA) Non-Medical Rs. 54,300 (Including HRA)

4. Essential Qualifications: MBBS degree with one-year Research/ Teaching experience or MD in Microbiology/ Pathology/ PSM from a recognized University or equivalent qualification. OR 1st Class Master's Degree in Life Sciences from a recognized University with 2 years experience in related field or 2nd Class Master's Degree with Ph. D in relevant subject from a recognized University. Or BDS/B.V. Sc degree with one year experience.

5. Desirable Qualifications:

 i) Qualifications/ Training/ Experience in Research Ethics or Bioethics.

ii) Good writing/ Communication skills/ Editorial work / Related Publications. 

iii) Knowledge of Computer applications.

iv) Working experience with an Ethics Committee.

v) Knowledge about National or International Ethical Guidelines. Experience of conducting or working in a clinical trial/ Biomedical Health Research/ Public Health Research.

6. Job Description: To co-ordinate and carry out the activities of ICMR bioethics Unit which include: -

a) Developing of ethics policy/ guidance on specific areas capacity building initiatives; use of online tools and methods for bioethics training; Organize and conduct National and International conferences/ courses or seminars on bioethics; development of bioethics course curriculum for students;

b) researchers and ethics committees; conduct survey / research to assess status of ethical review; collection and dissemination of relevant information through publications in Bioethics; Collaboration with National/ International institutes for research in the area of Ethics Networking and communication with stakeholders in the area of Ethics.
