Apply for NCRA Recruitment 2026. Latest Sarkari Naukri for Engineer, Scientific Assistant, and Admin roles at NCRA-TIFR Pune & GMRT.
The National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), a premier research center of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), has opened its recruitment cycle for 2026. This year's focus is on bolstering the technical and scientific workforce for the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) and the Square Kilometre Array (SKA) India project. NCRA is seeking highly motivated candidates for Scientific, Engineering, and Administrative roles, with primary qualifications including BE/B.Tech, M.Sc (Physics/Electronics), and ITI/Diploma for technical cadres.
The Centre has its roots in the Radio Astronomy Group of TIFR, set up in the early 1960s under the leadership of Prof. Govind Swarup. The group designed and built the Ooty Radio Telescope. In the early 80's an ambitious plan for a new telescope was proposed - the Giant Meterwave Radio Telescope. Since the site chosen for this new telescope was close to Pune, a new home for the group was built in the scenic campus of Pune University. The radio astronomy group morphed into the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics around this time.
This organization has released 6 recruitment notifications in the last 3 years.
