The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi, through its Department of Curriculum Studies & Development (DCS&D), has invited applications for 5 contractual research positions under three PAC-approved programmes for the year 2026-27. This is a direct walk-in interview recruitment – no written exam. The posts include 1 Senior Research Associate (SRA) and 4 Junior Project Fellows (JPFs). This is an excellent opportunity for postgraduates in Education, Sciences, Social Sciences, or Languages to contribute to NCERT's curriculum development work on a temporary basis. Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

  • SRA (Programme 7.01): Post Graduation in Mathematics / Science / Social Science / Language / Education with minimum 55% marks (General) / 50% marks (SC/ST/PH). Experience: 2 years in relevant field. Desirable: B.Ed./M.Ed., computer proficiency (MS Office, data analysis), fieldwork experience.
  • JPF (Programme 7.01): Post Graduation in Mathematics / Science / Social Science / Language / Education with minimum 55% marks (General) / 50% marks (SC/ST/PH). Desirable: B.Ed./M.Ed., computer skills, fieldwork experience.
  • JPF (Programme 7.03): Same qualification as above. Desirable: B.Ed./M.Ed., computer skills, data processing.
  • JPF (Programme 7.04): Same qualification as above. Desirable: B.Ed./M.Ed., computer skills, translation experience from English to Hindi and vice versa.

Important: Experience must be related to School Education. M.Phil/Ph.D. time will not count as experience.

Age Limit (as on 15 July 2026)

  • SRA: Below 45 years.
  • JPF: Below 40 years.
  • Age Relaxation: As per GoI norms (SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwD: 10 years etc.).

National Council of Educational Research and Training Logo

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) is an autonomous organisation set up in 1961 by the Government of India to assist and advise the Central and State Governments on policies and programmes for qualitative improvement in school education.
