National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG) Kalyani is an Institute of Government of India, Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Biotechnology. The Institute has created necessary physical infrastructure and critical platform technologies to support research, translation, and training in biomedical genomics.
1. Name of the Position: Data Analyst/ Project Associate II

3. Essential Education Qualification: A. M.Sc. /MTech. In Bioinformatics/Computer Science/any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized University B. 2 years of experience in genomic or metagenomic data analysis with proficiency in Linux commands, in-house script development
4. Desirable Qualification: Hands-on experience in A. DNA sequence data analysis FASTQ files, particularly on Human metagenomic samples using standard data analysis pipelines B. Basic knowledge In Perl/Python and Linux C. Proficiency in English and good communication skills
5. Nature of work & Responsibilities: Analysis of DNA, RNA sequence files from massively – parallel sequencing platforms, and preparing summaries and reports of data analysis
6. Consolidated and fixed monthly emolument : Basic Remuneration :28,000 + 27% HRA 7560 =35,560
7. Project Name: Probiotic Approach to Control Dry Skin: Project “Host Genomic Alteration and Metagenomic Profiles of Skin Microbiome Associated with Atopic Dermatitis.
8. Project Code: Research Description: Cataloging the changes in bacterial, viral, and fungal composition from normal skin microbiome to a diseased state using 16S rRNA gene sequencing and whole shotgun metagenome sequencing, metatranscriptomics along with highlighting the novel interplay between host genetic and metagenomic correlates in diseased individuals.
