Applications are invited on prescribed format (On-line) for the temporary post of "Junior Research Fellow” for the Project entitled “Application of Low Temperature Technology for Development of Millet Based Smart-Healthy Breakfast Products”. Selected candidate may enroll in Ph.D. Programme in the Department of Food Process Engineering, National Institute of Technology Rourkela based on Institute norms and regulations.

5. Tenure of the Project : 03 years

6. Tenure of the Assignment : 03 years i.e. upto 08 Mar., 2025 / Till end of the project

7. Job Description : Chemical and nutritive characterization of selected millets; Determination of the effect of hydration and germination on the nutritive values of the millets; To study the Fermentation and cooking of the germinated millets.; To develop the Freeze drying process for the cooked millet; Sensory evaluation of the developed Ready to eat healthy smart breakfast. Any other activity as assign by PI Scope to enroll as a Ph. D. Scholar in the Department of Chemistry (has to satisfy Institute / Department Eligibility Criteria)

8. Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship : INR 31,000 (1st & 2nd year) and INR 35,000 (3rd year)

9 Essential Qualifications and experience :

i. M. Tech. in Food Science & Technology / Agricultural Processing/ Food Process Engineering/ Post Harvest Technology / Food Technology or its equivalent degree

ii. B. Tech. should be in Agricultural Engineering / Food Engineering / Food Technology.

iii. Minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA at 10th, 12th, B. Tech. and M. Tech. level iv. GATE / NET Qualified

10. Desirable Qualifications / Exp. : Project work on value added products / paper publication

11. Accommodation : Bachelor / Married accommodation in the Institute may be provided subject to availability.

Selection Procedure

Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee invitation to the interview. Candidates will be short listed based on merit and need of the project.
