Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – Required Qualifications

Candidates must satisfy any one of the following educational criteria:

  • Route A: M.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech (R) / M.S. (R) (after B.Tech / B.E.) in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) / Information Technology (IT) / Equivalent, with 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech levels.
  • Route B: B.Tech / B.E. in CSE / IT with GATE score in CS/IT/AI & DS / Equivalent and CGPA above 7.0/10 or marks above 65%.
  • Route C: M.Sc. (with GATE/NET) or MCA (with GATE/NET) in Computer Science / Information Technology / Equivalent, with CGPA of 6.5/10 or 60% marks.

Desirable Skills & Qualifications

  • GATE score in CS/IT/AI & DS or equivalent disciplines.
  • Adequate knowledge of AI/ML and proficiency in software development using programming languages such as Python.
  • Sound knowledge in Mathematics.
  • Working knowledge of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
  • JRF candidate may be eligible for Ph.D. enrollment subject to fulfillment of NIT Rourkela institute regulations.

Age Limit & Relaxation

  • Upper Age Limit: 28 years (reckoned as on 25 October 2026, the last date of receipt of applications).
