CSIR-NIScPR Consultant Recruitment 2026: Notification for Canteen Management Post

CSIR – National Institute of Science Communication & Policy Research (NIScPR), New Delhi, has released an advertisement (Advt. No. NIScPR/02/I/2026 – R&A) for the engagement of a Consultant specifically for canteen management. This is a specialized opportunity for retired employees of CSIR, Central Autonomous Bodies, or Central Govt. PSUs to serve on a short-term contract basis.

This recruitment is specifically for the Canteen Manager role. It is not a competitive exam-based recruitment; selection is purely based on an interview by a screening committee. The position is purely contractual for a period of six months.

1. Vacancy Details and Scope of Work

The vacancy is for the management and supervision of the canteen at CSIR-NIScPR.

2. Eligibility Criteria

This position is exclusively for retired government officials.

Educational Qualification & Experience

  • Required Profile: Retired employees of CSIR / Central Government / Central Autonomous Bodies (CAB) / Central Govt. PSUs.
  • Designation: Must have served as a Canteen Manager previously.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age for engagement is 65 years.
  • Cut-off Date: The age is calculated as of the last date of receipt of application (16/02/2026).
  • Eligibility: The applicant should not be more than 64 years and 6 months as of 16/02/2026.

3. Terms of Engagement & Remuneration

Period of Engagement 06 Months (Initial contract)
Remuneration As per Government Rules (Consolidated).
Working Hours 09:00 AM to 05:30 PM (Normal office timing).

Note: May be required to attend beyond hours or on holidays without extra remuneration due to exigencies.
Leave As per Deptt. of Expenditure OM dated 09/12/2020.
Nature of Job Contractual. Does not confer any right for regular appointment. No allowances (DA, Transport, Residential accommodation) are applicable.
Termination Can be terminated by either side with one month's notice.

4. Selection Procedure

This is a Direct Recruitment based on an interview. No written examination is conducted.

  • Screening: Applications will be screened by a duly constituted Screening-cum-Selection Committee.
  • Interview: Eligible candidates will be called for an interview.
  • Communication: The date of the interview will be informed to eligible candidates via Email.
  • Final Decision: The decision of the competent authority will be final and binding.

Dr Ranjana Aggarwal, Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Technology and Development Studies (CSIR-NISTADS), New Delhi, has been assigned the additional charge of the post of Director, CSIR-National Institute of Science Communication and Information Resources (CSIR-NISCAIR), New Delhi.

Previously, Dr Ranjana Aggarwal has served as Professor of Chemistry and Director, Women’s Studies Research Centre at Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra where she was actively engaged in capacity building programmes, promotion of gender sensitization and skill development particularly among rural women. She obtained her BSc, MSc and PhD degrees from Kurukshetra University and then after carrying out two years postdoctoral research on erythromycin biosynthesis at Cambridge University, UK, she joined her Alma mater in 1995 as a lecturer. Subsequently, she worked in many well known European Labs such as again at Cambridge University as Commonwealth Fellow, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland and the University of Trieste, Italy. She is actively collaborating with scientists of the USA, Spain and Ireland.
