Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility for Deputy Director (Training)

  • Essential Qualification:
    • At least 50% Marks in Master's degree in Social Work or Sociology or Criminology or Social Anthropology from a recognized University or equivalent.
  • Experience:
    • 5 years' experience in teaching or research in the field of Social Defence or allied subjects or in both (total).
    • Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience.
  • Desirable: Ph.D. in Social Work.
  • Deputation Eligibility:
    • Officers holding analogous post on regular basis in Parent Cadre/Department OR
    • Officers with 5 years of service in the pay scale of Rs. 8000-13500 OR
    • Officers with 8 years of service in the pay scale of Rs. 6500-10500 (pre-revised) or equivalent.
    • Must be from Central/State Government, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, PSUs, or Autonomous/Statutory Bodies.

Salary / Pay Scale

The selected candidates will receive a salary on the scale of Rs. 10000-325-15200 (pre-revised).

The National Institute of Social Defence (NISD) is a premier central autonomous body under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. Originally established in 1961 as the Central Bureau of Correctional Services, the institute has a long-standing legacy in shaping India's social defence policies.
