Educational Qualification:
Project Technician-III: 12th pass in science subjects and two years diploma in Medical laboratory technician OR One year DMLT plus one year required experience in a recognized organization OR Two years field/Laboratory experience* in government recognized organization.
Project Data Entry Operator: Graduate with knowledge of data entry work.
Project Multi Tasking Staff: High school/Matric/equivalent from a recognized board.
Project Scientist-C (Medical): Post graduate degree (MD/MS/DNB) after MBBS with one year experience OR Postgraduate diploma in medical subjects after MBBS with two years experience OR MBBS* degree with 4 years experience in medical subjects after MBBS degree OR BDS/B.V.Sc & AH* degree recognized by DCI/VCI with 5 years R&D experience in the relevant subject after BDS/B.V.Sc degree.

Virus Research Center (VRC) was established in Pune in 1952 under the joint auspices of ICMR and Rockefeller Foundation, as part of the global programme of investigations on the arthropod-borne group of viruses. It was renamed as National Institute of Virology (NIV) in 1978. NIV is also the National Centre for Hepatitis and Influenza. In 1995 it has been redesignated as the WHO Collaborating Centre for Arbovirus and Haemorrhagic Fever Reference and Research and Rapid Diagnosis of Viral Diseases.
