National Seeds Corporation Ltd. (NSC) is a Schedule ‘B’-Miniratna Category-I company wholly owned by Government of India under the administrative control of Department of Agriculture Cooperation & Farmer’s Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. NSC was established in March-1963 to undertake production of foundation and certified seeds. At present, it is undertaking production of certified seeds of nearly 600 varieties of 60 crops consisting of Cereals, Pulses, oilseeds, Fiber, Fodder, Green Manure and Vegetables, in its Farms and through its registered seed growers. There are about 8 Farms and 12500 registered seed growers all over the country who are undertaking the seed production programmes in different agro-climatic conditions. Total Revenue of NSC for the F.Y. 2017-18 was 841.55 crores.
National Seeds Corporation Ltd (NSC) was established in the year 1963. NSC looks after production of foundation and certified seeds. In the seed production, emphasis is given for production of oil seeds, pulses and hybrids including vegetables. National Seeds Corporation Ltd has established strict Quality Control procedure to ensure supply of good quality seed to farmers. It is also involved in the production of Tissue Culture Plants like Banana, supply of seedlings/saplings of fruits crops. Tech in Agriculture Engineering, Graduate / Masters in any field of science/arts/commerce + Proficiency in Computers, Master degree in Agronomy/Soil Science/Agriculture Extension/Plant Breeding, M.Sc (Biotechnology), M.Sc (Hort.) with specialization in Vegetable Crops + Doctorate in Horticulture, post graduate degree in botany or agriculture with specialization in Plant Breeding Genetics, Agronomy or Horticulture, Master's Degree in Botany, or Agriculture with specialization in Agricultural Botany or Plant Breeding and Genetics or Agronomy or Seed Technology or Horticulture, Floriculture/Vegetable or Plant Pathology, or Entomology or Nematology, or Plant Physiology or Agricultural Extension, or Agricultural Economics, MSc.
