Educational Qualification: B.Tech/B.E, 10TH, M.E/M.Tech, M.Phil/Ph.D
For filling up the following purely temporary posts in a Consultancy project entitled “Development of Flood Warning System for Tlwang River, Mizoram, Development of Rating Curve & Preparation of Water Data Yearbook”, a hybrid
1. Position: Research Associate
2. No. of posts: 01
3. Educational Qualification: Ph.D. or having 3 years of research and teaching experience after PostGraduation with specialization in water resources engineering/ hydrology/ hydro-informatics/ geoinformatics/ related field. S/he should have at least one research paper in SCI journal.
4. Other Required Skill/ Experience: Previous experience in hydrological modelling, GIS and RS software handling, and programming capability in C++/ Python/ VB/ MATLAB/ R/ Mobile App development/ AI-ML.
5. Monthly Emoluments, Rs.: 47,000/- + 8% HRA Consolidated
1. Position: Senior Research Fellow
2. No. of posts: 01
3. Educational Qualification: M. Tech. in Water Resource Management/ Soil and Water Conservation Engineering/ Hydrology/ Geo-informatics/ Related Field with B. Tech. in Agricultural Engineering and Net or GATE qualified.
4. Other Required Skill/ Experience: Expertise in geo-informatics and preprocessing capability of satellite data; hydrological modelling.
5. Monthly Emoluments: 35,000/- + 8% HRA Consolidated
1. Position: Field Assistant
2. No. of posts: 01
3. Educational Qualification: Minimum Higher Secondary (HS) or equivalent examination pass.
4. Other Required Skill/ Experience: Ten years’ experience of field works in eastern Himalayan region in water resources related R&D projects.
5. Monthly Emoluments: 15,000./- Consolidated

Selection Procedure

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (NERIST) is a science and technology-oriented higher education institute in Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. It was established in 1984. It is a deemed university, autonomous and controlled by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Education. The institute is managed by a Board of Management, comprising representatives of MHRD. The state governor of Arunachal Pradesh is the de facto head of the highest body, NERIST Society, which consists of education ministers of all North Eastern States. The Board of Management is headed by the Chairman, Air Marshal (Retd.) Pranab Kumar Barbora.
The undergraduate programmes of Engineering are accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
