Eligibility Criteria & Qualification

Officers from Central Government, State Government, UT Administration, Autonomous Bodies, PSUs, or Universities can apply. The eligibility is divided into service requirements and educational qualifications.

1. Service Requirements (Deputation)

Officers must hold one of the following:

• Analogue post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department.
• 2 years regular service in Level-9 (Rs. 53,100-1,67,800/-).
• 4 years regular service in Level-8 (Rs. 47,600-1,51,100/-).
• 5 years regular service in Level-7 (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400/-).

2. Educational Qualification & Experience

• Essential: Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University + 3 years experience as Drill Instructor in Police Training Centres (Central/State/UT) or similar organizations.
• Desirable: 1 year experience in planning, coordinating, and conducting outdoor training activities.

3. Age Limit

Maximum age limit is 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

Job Responsibilities

The Chief Drill Instructor will perform the following duties:

• Assist Assistant Director (Outdoor) in planning outdoor training (Physical training, Drill, Firing, etc.).
• Supervise Drill Instructors and supporting staff in the Outdoor Training Wing.
• Act as a master trainer for DIs and ADIs.
• Organize demonstrations on Field Craft and Tactics for Basic and In-Service Courses.
• Upgrade Outdoor Training Aids and Methodologies.
• Prepare case studies on operations against militants and extremists.
