Online applications are invited in the prescribed Application Form (available at web link http://rec3.du.ac.in/) from eligible candidates for appointment to the post of Principal, in the Academic Pay Level 14 of 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix, in the college. 1. Name of the Post: Principal 2. Education Qualification: Ph.D. Degree. Professor/Associate Professor with a total service/ experience of at least fifteen years of teaching/research in universities, Colleges and other institutions of higher education. A minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed or UGC -listed journals. A minimum of 110 Research Score. 3. Tenure: (i) A College Principal shall be appointed for a period of five years, extendable for another term of five years on the basis of performance assessment by a committee appointed by the University. (ii) Committee for Assessment of College Principal and Professor for Second Term shall have the following composition: a) Nominee of the Vice-Chancellor. b) Nominee of the Chairman, UGC

Shivaji College, a constituent college of the University of Delhi. It is a co-educational institution offering a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Humanities, Science, and Commerce streams.
A premier institution in West Delhi, Shivaji College is accredited with an ‘A’ grade by NAAC and was ranked among the top 10 Science colleges in the country in a 2017 India Today survey. In 2024, the college achieved a remarkable leap in the NIRF rankings, moving from 70 to 49, reflecting its commitment to academic excellence.
Founded in 1961 by Hon'ble Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh, Union Minister for Agriculture, social activist, and farmer-leader, the college was established with the vision of providing quality higher education to both boys and girls in the predominantly rural area of Matiala. In 1967, the Government of Delhi took over the trusteeship of the college and relocated it to Karampura, and finally to its present campus in Raja Garden in 1976.
