Educational Qualification:
Chief Manager (Credit): Graduate / Post Graduate Preferred: CA/CFA/CMA/ICWA.
Assistant General Manager (Credit): Graduate / Post Graduate Preferred: CA/CFA/CMA/ ICWA.
Experience:
Chief Manager (Credit): Minimum 5 years of work experience in MSME credit / Corporate Credit as an executive in Supervisory / Management role / Senior Manager / Assistant Vice President in Public / Private Sector scheduled commercial bank. Experience in High Value Credit, Appraisal / Assessment of credit proposals of medium / large corporates.
Assistant General Manager (Credit): Minimum 8 years of work experience in MSME credit / Corporate Credit as an executive in Supervisory / Management role / Chief Manager / Assistant Vice President / Deputy Vice President in Public / Private Sector scheduled commercial bank. Tamilnad Mercantile Bank was founded in 1921 as the Nadar Bank, and changed its name to Tamilnad Mercantile Bank in November 1962. By 1947 the bank had only four branches: Tuticorin, Virudhunagar, Madurai and Sivakasi. The bank has become a member of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (SWIFT).
TMB has tied with HDFC Bank (531 locations) and IDBI Bank (136 locations) to give an effective branch network of 1025.
The first new fully computerised branch opened at WGC Road, Tuticorin on 9 December 1984. The bank had established its first currency chest in 1993 at Madurai and has industrial finance branches at Coimbatore, Chennai and Secunderabad. The Bank has launched its ATM Card on 11 November 2003.
TMB has also got the Reserve Bank of India's clearance in setting up branches in Singapore, Colombo and an unspecified location in Malaysia.
