Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for Fireman
- Essential Qualification: 12th class pass from a recognized Board. The candidate shall be physically fit and capable of performing strenuous duties.
- Physical Standards: Height without shoes: 165 cms (concession of 2.5 cms for Scheduled Tribe); Chest (Non-expanded): 81.5 cms; Chest (Expanded): 85 cms; Weight: 50 Kg minimum.
- Endurance Test: Carrying a man (fireman lift of 63.5 kgs) to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds; Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet; Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet. OR Ex-servicemen of General Duty Trade.
- Desirable: Possessing heavy motor vehicle license.
Eligibility for Syce
- Essential Qualification: Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognized Board. Must be conversant with the duties of Syce.
- Experience: Refer to official notification for specific experience requirements if any (typically none for Syce unless specified).
Eligibility for Saddler
- Essential Qualification: Matriculation pass or equivalent from a recognized Board with proficiency in trade.
- Experience: Refer to official notification for specific experience requirements if any.
Age Limit
- Fireman: 18 to 27 years for Unreserved and EWS; Up to 40 years for Central Govt Employees; 45 years for SC/ST; 43 years for OBC.
- Syce and Saddler: 18 to 25 years for Unreserved and EWS; Up to 35 years for Central Govt Employees; 45 years for SC/ST; 43 years for OBC.
- Note: SC/ST/OBC/PwD candidates applying against UR posts are not entitled to age relaxation.
Selection Process
- Applications shortlisted based on percentage of marks in essential qualification.
- Written Test (Objective Type, bilingual in English and Hindi).
- Skill Test / Physical Test / Endurance Test (qualifying for Fireman).
- Verification of character and antecedents from Police authority.
- Medical examination.
- Selected candidates on probation for two years.
