Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Educational Qualification: 10+2 qualified in any stream or equivalent examination.
- Sports Proficiency for Direct Entry Petty Officer:
- Medalist at Junior/Senior level representing State in National competitions or represented country at International level (individual event).
- Represented State or country in National/International competitions at Junior/Senior level (team event).
- Medalist in Khelo India Games & Youth Games or above.
- Certificate from respective sports authority required.
- Sports Proficiency for Direct Entry Chief Petty Officer:
- Winner of any medal in World/Asian Championship, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games/World Cup.
- Represented India twice in Asian Games/Commonwealth Games/World Cup.
- Represented India in Olympics.
- Age Limit: Between 17½ and 25 years as on course commencement date (born between 01.09.2001 and 28.02.2009).
- Physical Standards: Minimum height 157 cm (male), 152 cm (female). Visual standards as specified.
Selection Process & Screening Clause
The selection process includes:
- Sports Trials: Shortlisted candidates will be called for trials at designated Naval Centres based on sports achievements.
- Medical Examination: Candidates qualifying trials will undergo medical exam at INS Hamla, Mumbai or INS India, Delhi.
- Final Selection: Offer of Enrolment based on sports discipline requirements and vacancies.
- Screening Clause: Short-listing criteria based on higher sports achievements. No change of trial venue allowed.
- TA/DA: No TA/DA will be paid for attending trials.
- Medical Appeals: Candidates declared temporarily unfit can avail specialist review within 21 days; permanently unfit can appeal within 21 days on payment of ₹40.
