Educational Qualification: M.Phil/Ph.D
Applications are invited for a 3-year postdoctoral fellowship position at the Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA). The position is funded by the CEFIPRA Indo-French Centre for the Promotion of Advanced Research project "Resolving the impact of AGN feedback on gas and star formation through simulations and observations".
1. Post Name : Post Doctoral Fellowship
2. Qualification & Experience: The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in astronomy, astrophysics or a related discipline. Experience in numerical simulations will be advantageous. However we encourage applications from all candidates with a background in AGN feedback and/or extragalactic astrophysics, including qualified observers who wish to focus on a simulation project. Applications by women and members of underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged.
3. Salary: The net salary is 47,000 INR (with additional housing rent allowance), which may increment to 49,000 INR and 54,000 INR in the second and third year. Funding to allow travel to France to collaborate with Dr. Nesvadba will be available.

The Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA) is an autonomous institution set up by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India to promote the nucleation and growth of active groups in astronomy and astrophysics at Indian universities. IUCAA aims to be a centre of excellence within the university sector for teaching, research and development in astronomy and astrophysics.
IUCAA’s activities fall under two broad programmes: core academic programmes and visitor academic programmes. Core academic programmes include basic research, the PhD programme, advanced research workshops and schools, the giant metre-wave radio telescope and guest observer programmes. Visitor academic programmes include the visitor and associates programme, refresher courses for teachers and helping the nucleation and growth of astronomy and astrophysics at Indian universities.
