The department works under the Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Govt. of Uttarakhand as an undertaking of Uttarakhand Government. The department is mainly responsible for planning, survey, DPR preparation and execution of water supply and sewerage projects in urban & rural areas of Uttarakhand State.
