The state of Uttarakhand officially came into existence on November 9, 2000, following the Reorganisation of Uttar Pradesh Act, 2000. To facilitate the administrative needs of this new state, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) was constituted by the Governor under the provisions of Article 315(1) of the Constitution of India. This establishment was formalized via Notification No. 247/1-Karmik-2001 dated March 14, 2001.
UKPSC serves as the central recruiting agency for the state government, playing a pivotal role in nation-building and state administration. The Commission is responsible for conducting examinations and interviews for appointments to various civil services and posts under the Government of Uttarakhand. For aspirants of government jobs in the region, UKPSC is the primary gateway to securing a public sector career within the state.
Currently, the sanctioned strength of the Commission comprises a Chairman and six Members. Through its rigorous selection process, UKPSC ensures that the most capable candidates are selected for key administrative roles, contributing to the efficient delivery of public welfare services across the state. Job seekers looking for the latest sarkari naukri notifications in Uttarakhand regularly monitor the UKPSC portal for updates on UKPSC recruitment opportunities.
