Eligibility for Joint Director (Class-I) (Dy.HoD)
- Essential Qualification: Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Computer Engineering from a recognized University/Institution.
- Desirable Qualification: Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Information Systems, MIS, or Business Administration (with systems specialization).
- Experience (Direct Recruitment): Twelve years of executive experience in planning, data collection/compilation/interpretation, field surveys, or Electronic Data Processing/Information Technology.
- Experience (Absorption): Officers holding analogous posts or Sr. Dy. Director (Research/EDP) with 3 years of regular service in that grade. Alternatively, those with 2 years in that grade and a combined regular service of 7 years in specified pay scales (Rs. 10,750-16,750 and Rs. 13,000-18,250).
- Age Limit: Upper age limit is 42 years for direct recruitment (Crucial Date: 19.01.2026).
- Selection Standard: Selection is by Merit. The overall grading in ACR/APAR for the last five years must not be below "Very Good".
Salary / Stipend
Selected candidates will be paid a salary in the scale of Rs. 80,000 – 2,20,000.

Selection Process
Selection will be done on the basis of Merit. Candidates must have an overall grading in ACR/APAR for the last five years not below "Very Good".

- Candidates must apply via the Online Application Portal (OAP) of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways at http://onlinevacancy.shipmin.nic.in.
- After online submission, take a print-out of the application.
- The hard copy of the online application, along with required documents, must be sent through the proper channel to the Secretary, VPA.
- Hard copies must reach the designated address by 03.02.2026.
Required Documentation
The following documents must be forwarded by the Ports:
- Attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years (2020-2021 to 2024-2025).
- Verified photocopies of educational and experience certificates.
- Administrative & Vigilance Clearance (per Annexure-II and Annexure-III).
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) (per Annexure-V).
- Self-Undertaking (per Annexure-IV) stating the candidate will not withdraw if selected (withdrawal results in a two-year debarment).
- Statement of Service (per Annexure-VI).
