Interested and eligible candidates are requested to send the duly filled application by email to [email protected] on or before 22nd February 2022 for the 01 post of Junior Research Fellow in the project entitled “Molecular taxonomy, distribution and species diversity of fishes of the order Gobiiformes from Indian waters” at the Zoological Survey of India, Marine Biology Regional Centre, Near Hotel Sangeetha, Santhome High Road, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.

3. Educational Qualification: M. Sc. in Zoology/ Marine Biology/ Life Sciences/or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.
4. Desirable Qualification: Relevant Research experience in fish taxonomy, systematics, zoology, field survey, fish collection, field photography, molecular biology techniques DNA isolation, PCR, Phylogenetic analyses, bioinformatics.
5. Fellowship will be as per the SERB rules and regulations. For NON-CSIR/UGC NET/JRF/GATE/ICAR, ICMR etc. candidates the fellowship will be@Rs. 25000/- + HRA.
6. Duration: Initially up to one year, may be extended for further period(s) based on satisfactory performance of individual and funding.
7. Salary: Rs. 31000/- + HRA

1. Mere possession of qualification and experience may not ascertain the short listing of candidates for interview or selection.
2. Shortlisted candidates will be informed through email for appearing before an interview committee to be conducted virtually through video conferencing, through a short notice.
3. The original certificates and other credentials will be verified at the time of joining and at the time of the verification of original documents (even after selection), if it is found that an attempt has been made by the applicant to wilfully conceal, misrepresent or canvass the facts, such applicant will not be considered for selection and due action will be implemented.
4. The Director, Zoological Survey of India reserves the right to selection or rejection of any candidature and cancellation of the interview.
