Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

Senior Research Fellow (SRF)

• Master's Degree in Science (Plant Pathology, Entomology, Nematology, Agricultural Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Plant Genetic Resources, or Life Sciences) from a recognized University with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor's degree, OR
• Post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences (specialization in Biotechnology, Agriculture, Botany, Genetics, Plant Science, Life Sciences, or related subjects) with 3 years of Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Master's degree, with NET qualification and 2 years of research experience in the relevant area.

Laboratory Assistant

• B.Sc./Graduate degree in Science from a recognized University.
• Relevant experience in agriculture field, biotechnology laboratory, plant protection, or growing crops (Desirable).

Age Limit & Relaxation

• Senior Research Fellow: Maximum 35 years. Relaxation: +5 years for Women and SC/ST candidates, +3 years for OBC candidates, +10 years for PwD candidates.
• Laboratory Assistant: Maximum 50 years. Relaxation: +5 years for Women and SC/ST candidates, +3 years for OBC candidates, +10 years for PwD candidates.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

• The selection is based on a Walk-In Interview held in physical mode on 23 October 2026 at the NBPGR Office, New Delhi.
