About Aeronautical Development Agency
The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) is an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Established in 1984, ADA plays a pivotal role in the development of cutting-edge aeronautical technologies and the design of advanced aerospace systems for the Indian Armed Forces.
ADA's primary focus is on the design and development of aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and related systems. The agency collaborates with various defense and research organizations, including the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), to achieve its objectives.
One of ADA's notable achievements is its role in the development of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas, a fourth-generation multirole fighter aircraft designed for the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy. The agency has been instrumental in designing critical components, conducting rigorous testing, and ensuring the aircraft's successful induction into the Indian Armed Forces.
