Note: Detailed qualification norms for Physical Education, Music, Fine Arts, Dance, and Special School Teacher categories are specified in the official notification's Annexures (Parishisht-1 & 2). Candidates must be Indian citizens.
Educational Qualification:Post-specific qualifications as detailed in the eligibility table. All qualifications must be from recognized universities/institutions. Equivalence of degrees will be decided by the Department in consultation with NCTE.
Age Limit:Minimum 21 years as on 01.08.2026. Maximum age varies by category (UR Male: 37, UR Female/BC/EBC: 40, SC/ST: 42). Relaxations for Divyang (10 years) and Ex-Servicemen (Service period + 3 years).
Exam Fee (Online Payment):
- One Paper: ₹960 (General/EWS/BC/EBC) / ₹760 (SC/ST/Divyang).
- Both Papers: ₹1,440 (General/EWS/BC/EBC) / ₹1,140 (SC/ST/Divyang).
- Note: Candidates domiciled outside Bihar are treated as General category.
Exam Pattern & Qualifying Marks:
- Mode: Computer Based Test (CBT), Objective Type.
- Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes per paper.
- Total Marks: 150 (Subject Content: 100, Teaching Aptitude: 50).
- Negative Marking: No negative marking.
- Qualifying Marks: General (50%), BC (45.5%), EBC (42.5%), SC/ST/Divyang/Women (40%).
- Normalization: Applied for multi-shift exams; final result is based on Normalized Score.

Candidates must apply online through the official STET registration portal. No offline applications are accepted.

- Register: Complete first-time registration to generate a User ID and Password (sent via SMS/e-mail).
- Fill the Application Form: Log in and enter accurate personal, educational, and category details.
- Upload Documents: Upload a recent colour photograph (20 KB–200 KB, 3.5cm × 4.5cm) and scanned signature (10 KB–50 KB).
- Preview and Save: Click "Preview" to verify all details; use "Save" to correct errors before final submission.
- Pay Fee: Pay the examination fee online via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
- Submit Application: Click "Submit" to finalize. No changes are permitted after final submission.
- Print Confirmation: Download and print a copy of the confirmed application.
