Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification

• Candidate must be an Indian citizen and resident of Bihar.
• Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Library Science from a recognized university with at least 45% marks (or equivalent grade). A 5% marks relaxation is available for reserved categories as per the notice.
• Minimum Age: 21 years as on 01 August 2026.
• Age Limit: Category-wise upper age limits: Unreserved Male 37 years, Unreserved Female 40 years, BC/EBC 40 years, SC/ST 42 years. Additional relaxation for PwD (10 years) and ex-servicemen.

Selection Process & Screening Clause

Selection is based solely on a Computer Based Test (CBT). There is no interview. The exam pattern is:

• Library Science: 100 marks
• General Knowledge: 50 marks
• Total: 150 marks, 150 minutes duration, no negative marking.

Qualifying marks: General 50%, BC 45.5%, EBC 42.5%, SC/ST/Divyang/Women 40%. Results will be normalized if multiple sessions are held.

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the exam.

• Matriculation (10th) certificate and mark sheet (proof of date of birth).
• Intermediate (12th) certificate and mark sheet.
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science – certificate and all mark sheets.
• Residential (domicile) certificate for Bihar.
• Caste certificate and non-creamy layer certificate (if applicable for BC/EBC).
• Disability certificate (if applicable).
• Ex-serviceman document (if claiming age relaxation).
• Recent colour photograph and signature in prescribed format.
