Educational Qualification:
Qualifications for Post of SRF - M.Sc. (Ag) with specialization in Soil Science / Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry / Agronomy / Agroforestry or M.Sc. in Environmental Science or M. Tech. / M.E. in Soil Water Conservation Engineering / Land and Water Resources Engineering / Water Resources Engineering.
Qualifications for Post of JRF - M.Sc. in Agriculture with specialization in Agronomy / Soil Science / Horticulture / Vegetable Science / Plant Physiology / Seed Technology / Crop Physiology / Plant Biochemistry / Agroforestry or M.Sc. in Environmental Science or M.Sc. in Horticulture or M.Sc. Botany (with specialization in Plant Physiology/Biochemistry) or M. Tech. / M.E. in Soil Water Conservation Engineering / Land and Water Resources Engineering / Water Resources Engineering or M.Sc. / M. Tech. in Chemistry / Forestry / Agroforestry / Remote Sensing / GIS / Geology / Information Technology. Candidates must have cleared NET/GATE. The candidate for SRF must have a minimum of two years of research experience

The Central Arid Zone Research Institute (CAZRI) was established by the Government of India in 1952 in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. It was previously known as Desert Afforestation Research Station until it was renamed in 1959.
The objectives of the Institute are to find ways to stabilizing shifting sand dunes, establishing silvi pastoral and firewood plantations, planting windbreaks to reduce wind speed and subsequent erosion, rehabilitating degraded forests and starting afforestation of barren hill slopes.
