The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training formerly known as the Central Institute of Fisheries Operatives, is a marine studies centre located at Kochi, India
The Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training (or CIFNET) was formerly known as the Central Institute of Fisheries Operatives (CIFO). CIFNET is a marine studies centre located at Kochi. It was set up to aid research and development in the field.The institute was established in the year 1963 and is affiliated with the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). It offers bachelor's degree in both fisheries and nautical science. It has two other units in Visakhapatnam and Chennai. The institute also offers two diploma courses. The diploma courses are in vessel navigation and marine fitting. It also conducts refresher courses for students the MMD exam. The institute has its headquarters in Kochi. Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training recruitment offers great career opportunities for several posts such as Bosun, Turner, Fitter, Junior Deckhand, Senior Deckhand, Net Maker, Mate, Staff Car Driver, Wireless Supervisor, Turner, Instructor (Fishing Technology), Topaz. Interested candidates can pursue courses in 10th Class with Certificate of Competency as Mate of Fishing Vessels issued by the Mercantile Marine Department, NCVT or ITI or ITC trade certificate (Diploma) in Turner, Matriculation, 10th Standard Pass + Civil Driving Licence for Light, Medium & heavy vehicles; Diploma in Electronics/Telecommunication, Master's Degree in Zoology or Fishery Science or Industrial Fisheries, for a great career at Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical and Engineering Training.
