Central Institute of Psychiatry (CIP), Ranchi has released a notification for the recruitment of eligible candidates for the posts of Clinician Scientist/Clinical Research Training Fellow and Junior Research Fellow on a contract basis. The selection will be conducted through a Walk-in-Interview scheduled for January 12, 2026.

Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for Clinician Scientist/Clinical Research Training Fellow
- Essential Qualification: M.D in Psychiatry/ M.D Psychological Medicine/ DNB Psychiatry or equivalent qualification from a recognized University/Institution.
- Experience: Completed 3 years of residency as on/before 31st December 2025.
- Age Limit: Upper Age Limit is 50 Years.
- Work Location: CIP, Ranchi.
- Duration: For Six months maximum extendable upto September, 2026.
Eligibility for Junior Research Fellow
- Essential Qualification: M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology/ Psychiatric Social Work / M.Sc. in Psychology/Social Work.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in mental health.
- Age Limit: Upper Age Limit is 45 Years.
- Work Location: CIP, Ranchi.
- Duration: For Six months maximum extendable upto September, 2026.

Central Institute of Psychiatry is a premier institution for mental health in India. The British established this hospital on 17th May, 1918 with the name of Ranchi European Lunatic Asylum. CIP, Ranchi has come a long way covering a journey of 100 years witnessing many transitions and at the same time taking the credit of development of a comprehensive mental health service delivery centre with many innovations in the field of mental health and neurosciences including clinical services, state of art research and manpower training in the country. Spread across 211 acres in the picturesque city of Ranchi, today, CIP offers the latest medical advances in an environment that promotes mental health and enhances a sense of wellbeing.
At present there are 17 Wards, 07 wards for the male patients and 06 for the female patients, one ward for centre for child & adolescent psychiatry, one ward for center for addiction psychiatry, one Family Unit and one Emergency Ward.
