Centre for Marine Living Resources & Ecology (CMLRE), Kochi was established in 1998 to organizing, coordinating and promoting ocean development activities in India. CMLRE comes under the Ministry of Earth Science, Government of India.
CMLRE aims to strengthen research & development by developing management strategies for marine living resources through Ecosystem monitoring and modelling efforts. CMLRE coordinates Research & Development Programmes through effective utilisation of Fisheries and Oceanographic Research, Vessel Sagar Sampada, etc.
