Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
- Educational Qualification: Pass in X Standard, and a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification from the Indian Navy, awarded by a recognised University / Institute / Examination Board. An equivalency certificate must be produced for non-standard qualifications.
- Essential Experience: Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in the operation, maintenance, and watchkeeping of marine equipment and systems on Indian Naval Surface Ships or Submarines (as Ex-Indian Navy personnel).
- Desirable Experience: Knowledge of propulsion systems on Naval Surface Ships and Submarines; familiarity with Indian Navy administrative procedures; hands-on experience with Marine Main Engines, Gearboxes, Auxiliary Machineries (Air Conditioning, Refrigeration, HVAC, Sewage Treatment, Oily Water Separator, PGD systems), Weapon Equipment, Sensors, and Deck Machineries; proficiency in computer-based data management and record keeping.
- Restriction: Only Ex-Indian Navy Personnel are eligible. The post is not identified as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD).
Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Certificate Verification: Candidates must produce original documents for verification of age, qualification, experience, and Indian Navy discharge credentials.
- Personal Interview: The interview is conducted out of 100 marks. Cochin Shipyard reserves the right to shortlist candidates based on eligibility requirements ascertained from the uploaded certificates before calling them for the interview.
- Merit Preparation: The final rank list is prepared based on marks secured in the Personal Interview. In case of ties, seniority in age will decide relative merit.
