The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission invites application from suitable candidates for filling up the anticipated vacancy in the Office of The Electricity Ombudsman established under Section 42(6) of Electricity Act 2003 as per the terms of appointment of Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (Forum for Redressal of the Grievances of the Consumers and Ombudsman) Regulations, 2018 as follows; 1. Name of the Post: Advisor (Law) 2. Vacancy: 01 (Anticipated) 3. Office: Office of The Electricity Ombudsman 4. Eligibility: Advisor (Law) to the Ombudsman shall possess a graduate degree in Law from a recognized University and shall have at least ten (10) years of experience working as a Legal Advisor to an organization of repute. The Experience of working in regulatory bodies/local bodies/public utilities and/ or convening meetings of board of Directors in a company or corporation will be preferable. 5. Advisor (Law) in the Office of The Electricity Ombudsman: The Advisor (Law) is entitled to a consolidated salary of Rs. 80,000/- (Rupees Eighty Thousand Only) per month with 5% increment per year.

Selection Will be Based either Written Exam/Interview
1. The prescribed format for application for the above position is available on the DERC website i.e. www.derc.gov.in. Applications not forwarded as per format are likely to be rejected. Copies of self attested testimonials / certificates relating to educational, work experience and proof of date of birth are to be attached and a self attested passport size photograph is to be affixed on the application form.
2. In addition, applicants are required to furnish a vigilance clearance / undertaking as applicable as per the formats given out. Additional info if any may be provided in a separate sheet The duly completed application is to be submitted to the Secretary, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission, Viniyamak Bhawan, C-Block, Shivalik, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi-110017. The envelope containing the application should be superscribed as “Applied for the position of Advisor (Law)”.
3. The last date for receipt of applications will be one month from the date of publication of advertisement in newspaper.
4. Last Date of Receipt of Application is 21.03.2022.

The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission was constituted by Govt. of NCT of Delhi vide Notification No.F.11(28)/98-EB/341 dt. 3-3-99 for discharge of the following functions :
To determine the tariff for electricity, wholesale bulk, grid or retail, as the case maybe, in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
To determine the tariff payable for the use of the transmission facilities in the manner provided in section 29 of the Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998;
To regulate power purchase and procurement process of the transmission utilities and distribution utilities including the price at which the power shall be procured from the generating companies, generating stations or from other sources for transmission, sale, distribution and supply in the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
To promote competition, efficiency and economy in the activities of the electricity industry to achieve the objects and purposes of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission Act, 1998.
