Eligibility Criteria & Educational Qualification
Eligibility, qualifications, experience, and other terms and conditions of appointment — including compensation and facilities — are governed by the DERC Management and Development of Human Resources Regulations, available at: DERC HR Regulations Portal.
- All Posts: Candidates must be eligible Central/State Government officers or PSU employees serving in corresponding or equivalent cadre who fulfill the minimum experience and educational qualification norms prescribed under DERC HR Regulations for the respective posts.
- Secretary & Executive Director Posts: Typically require officers from Group 'A' cadre with substantial regulatory/administrative/legal/engineering experience at senior levels.
- Joint Director & Dy. Director Posts: Require officers from corresponding or equivalent grades with domain-specific experience in tariff regulation, law, economics, finance, or consumer affairs.
- Asstt. Director (Info – Tech) & Dy. Director (Info – Tech): Require officers with background in information technology/computer applications at appropriate levels.
- Assistant Account Officer & Personnel Officer: Require officers from corresponding grades with relevant accounting or personnel/HR administration experience.

Selection Process & Screening Clause
- Mode: Selection will be made on deputation basis through screening of applications against prescribed eligibility criteria.
- Screening: Applications will be scrutinized by a Screening Committee constituted by DERC. Shortlisted candidates may be called for an interaction/interview as deemed fit by the Commission.
