Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD) Invites Application for 8 Deputy Director Recruitment 2021

Applications are invited from the eligible officials for filling up 05 (five) posts of Assistant Director(S& R) Pay Band-3 Rs. 15600-39100 with Grade pay of Rs. 5400 (Pre- revised) in Storage and Research Division, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. Department of Food and Public Distribution, Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi by transfer on deputation including (short term contract) basis. Details of the post, eligibility conditions etc.

5. Eligibility conditions for appointment on deputation (including short-term contract) basis: Officers of Central Government or State Governments or Union Territory or Autonomous Bodies or Public Sector Undertakings or Statutory Organizations or Universities or Semi-Government Organizations:

a. holding analogous posts on regular basis; or

b. with five years regular service in posts in the Pay Band -3, Rs. 15600-39100, Grade Pay of Rs.5400/-; and

c. with six years regular service in posts in the Pay Band -2(Rs. 9300-34800/-), Grade Pay of Rs.4800/-; and b) Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience:

6. Essential:

(i) Master's Degree in Entomology or Plant Pathology or Bio-Chemistry from a recognized University; or Master's Degree in Agriculture with specialization in Entomology or Plant Pathology or Bio-Chemistry from a recognised University; or Master's Degree in Zoology or Botany or Chemistry from a recognised University; and

ii) Five years' experience in teaching or research or extension work, including aspects related to storage and preservation of foodgrains in Govenment Organizations or Public Sector Undertakings or Universities.

7. Note: The Departmental officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly, deputationists shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion.

8. (The period of deputation including the period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other organization or department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed four years.) The maximum age limit for appointment on deputation (including short-term contract) shall be not exceeding 56 years, as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

9. Duties of Deputy Director (S&R): Deputy Directors (S&R) is the head of field offices/field stations of S&R division. He/She is to carry out supervision and inspection of Quality Control work for assessment of quality of food grains in central pool from procurement to distribution and to attend various meetings of State Govt., FCI, CWC etc.

10. Place of posting: The place of posting will be S&R Division, Department of Food And Public Distribution but liable to be posted anywhere in India. (At present the post of DDs are vacant at QCCs, Bhopal, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Bhubaneswar, Lucknow, Delhi & IGMRIs in Hapur, Ludhiana and Hyderabad).
