About Department of Rural Development Bihar

The Rural Development Department, Govt. of Bihar, implements several programs that are at alleviating rural poverty through creation of infrastructures by generating sustainable employment opportunities for the rural poor. It creates job opportunities and foundation based infrastructure in rural areas and improve the condition of rural poor family. The GoB is committed for poverty alleviation through providing building supporting and sustaining institutions for the poor and enhancing their livelihood. There is a program which caters to skill development and promotes opportunities of self-employment for eligible categories of individuals and self Help Groups. Overall development of people through convergence of schemes under multi-dimensional strategy and to increase the employment opportunities in rural areas are our aims.
