About DESGPC
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar, Punjab (India), an apex democratically elected body of Sikhs residing all over the world was established under a special Act of Parliament in 1925. Besides managing the Sikh Gurdwaras (i.e. Holy Sikh Shrines) and religious affairs of this most dynamic, vibrant, and enterprising community, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (S.G.P.C.) also looks after its cultural and historical monuments. At the same time, it runs and supports a number of Educational Institutions; Charitable Hospitals; Houses for physically and mentally challenged people and Welfare Cradles for Orphans.
