- Fitter Auto: ITI pass certificate in Automobile/Motor Vehicle Mechanic/Diesel Mechanic or equivalent Defence Services Tradesman course.
- Electrician Mate: ITI pass certificate in Electrical trade or equivalent Defence Services Tradesman course.
- Labourer: ITI pass certificate in any trade or equivalent Defence Services Tradesman course.
Age Limit (as on closing date):
- Minimum: 16 years
- Maximum: 27 years
- Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years; OBC - 3 years; Ex-Servicemen - 3 years (plus service period deduction); Departmental candidates - up to 40/43/45 years based on category.
Salary:
Pay Matrix Level-1 (₹18,000 - ₹56,900) as per 7th CPC. Plus DA, HRA, TA, Children Education Allowance, LTC, Medical, CSD facilities, and other allowances as per Government of India rules. Covered under NPS/UPS.
Selection Procedure: Written Test (Objective Type - MCQ), followed by a Trade Test (for shortlisted candidates).

- Download Application Form: Obtain the prescribed application format (Appendix 'A') and admit card (Appendix 'B') from the official notification.
- Fill the Form: Fill in all details in block letters using black/blue ballpoint pen or neatly typed on A4 paper. Avoid overwriting or corrections.
- Attach Documents: Attach self-attested copies of all required documents:
- Educational qualification certificates
- Date of Birth certificate (Matriculation/Birth Certificate)
- Caste certificate (if applicable, in prescribed format)
- EWS certificate (if applicable, Annexure-IV format)
- e-PPO/Discharge certificate (for Ex-Servicemen)
- NOC from current employer (for government employees)
- Aadhaar card copy
- Two self-addressed envelopes of 30x12 cm size with ₹55 postal stamp
- Two recent passport-size photographs (self-signed) on the application and admit cards
- Duly filled and signed admit card (Appendix 'B') in duplicate
- Instruction for examination (Appendix 'C') duly signed
- Superscribe Envelope: Write "APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TECHNICIAN (SEMI SKILLED) TRADE:

Important Instructions & Exam Details
- Single Application: Only one application per candidate is allowed. Multiple applications will lead to summary rejection.
- Written Exam: Objective type (MCQ), no negative marking. Subjects: General Intelligence & Reasoning (25 marks), General Awareness (25 marks), English Language & Comprehension (25 marks), Numerical Aptitude (25 marks).
- Trade Test: 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 40 marks.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be in good mental and physical health. Night blindness or colour blindness will lead to disqualification.
- No TA/DA: No travelling or dearness allowance is admissible for attending the written test or trade test.
- Legal Jurisdiction: Any disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of courts/tribunals in Chennai only.
- Caution: Candidates are advised not to be misled by fraudulent recruitment offers. The DGQA reserves the right to cancel/suspend the recruitment process at any stage.

The Directorate General of Quality Assurance (DGQA) is under Deptt. Of Defence Production , Ministry of Defence. This organisation is more than hundred years old and provides Quality Assurance (QA) cover for the entire range of Arms, Ammunitions, Equipment and Stores supplied to Armed Forces. Apart from QA activities, the organisation is responsible for import substitution and associates with Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in the development projects. It also ensures Documentation, Codification and Standardisation Action for minimising the variety of components / equipment.
The other services rendered are promotion of small scale industries, Post procurement services, Defect Investigations and Technical Consultancy to the users, Ministry and the Production Agencies.
