Age Relaxation Details
- Serving Railway Employees: UR: 40, OBC: 43, SC/ST: 45 (for both levels).
- Widows/Divorced/Judicially Separated Women: UR: 35, OBC: 38, SC/ST: 40.
- PwBD: Additional 10 years relaxation.
- Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years (minimum 6 months service).
- Course Completed Act Apprentices (CCAA): For Level-1, age limit is UR: 33, OBC: 36, SC/ST: 38 plus apprenticeship period (max 3 years).
Educational Qualification & Experience:Varies by level. Refer to the detailed table above. Scouts & Guides qualification is mandatory for both levels.
Skills:Scouting/Guiding activities, general knowledge.
Age Limit:As per the detailed table above. Age is reckoned as on 01.01.2027. Relaxations are applicable as per government rules.
Salary:
As per 7th CPC Pay Levels: Level-1 (₹18,000-56,900) and Level-2 (₹19,900-63,200) plus allowances as per railway rules.
Selection Procedure:
- Stage-I: Written Test (60 marks - 40 objective + 1 essay). Qualifying percentage: 40%.
- Stage-II: Marks on Scouts & Guides Certificates (40 marks).
- Medical Examination: In the ratio of 1:1 for recommended candidates.
Application Fee:
- UR/OBC/EWS (Male): ₹500 (₹400 refundable on appearing in written test).
- SC/ST/ESM/PwBD/Women/Minorities/EBC: ₹250 (fully refundable on appearing in written test).

- Visit Official Website: Go to https://www.rrcer.org and click on the "Online/E-Application for Scouts & Guides Quota" link.
- Register: Click on "New Registration" and fill in personal details (Name, Father's Name, DOB, Category, Email, Mobile). A registration number and password will be sent to your email/mobile.
- Login & Fill Form: Log in using the credentials and complete the application step-by-step.
- Upload Documents: Upload scanned images of:
- Photograph (35mm x 45mm or 320x240 pixels, 20-50KB, JPG/JPEG)
- Signature (50mm x 20mm box, 10-40KB)
- Left Thumb Impression (LTI) - (50mm x 20mm box, 10-40KB)
- Self-attested certificates (Educational, Scouts & Guides achievements, Caste, Income, etc.)
- Pay Fee: Pay the application fee online through Internet Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
- Submit: Submit the properly filled application form. A Unique Application Number will be generated.
- Print: Take two printouts of the final application form and keep them safe.

About Eastern Railway
The Eastern Railway (abbreviated ER) is among the 18 zones of the Indian Railways. Its headquarters is at Fairley Place, Kolkata and comprises four divisions: Howrah, Malda, Sealdah, and Asansol. Each division is headed by a Divisional Railway Manager (DRM). The name of the division denotes the name of the city where the divisional headquarters is located.
