Eligibility Criteria

This recruitment is open to officers of the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) only. No direct application from other departments or civilians.

For Superintendent of Customs (Preventive)

• Holding analogous posts on regular basis in parent cadre/department OR
• With 3 years service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in pay scale ₹5500-9000 (or equivalent) in parent cadre/department.
• Possessing 2 years experience in Excise or Customs procedural work.

For Preventive Officer

• Holding analogous posts on regular basis OR
• With 6 years service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in pay scale ₹4500-7000 (or equivalent) in parent cadre/department.
• Possessing 2 years experience in Customs or Central Excise procedural work.

Additional Conditions

• Maximum age limit: 56 years as on closing date of application.
• Deputation period (including previous ex-cadre posts) shall not exceed 3 years.
• Officers in higher grade pay/scale are ineligible for lower grade pay posts as per DoPT rules.
